Living Room Plays
In 2015, I learned that my Barrio Logan home was once the San Diego Black Panther Party headquarters. Years later, in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and the global uprisings for Black lives, I created Black to the Future - a site-specific living room performance excavating history, lineage, and the echoes of resistance held within domestic space.
Developed through a devised process within The Old Globe’s Arts Engagement/coLAB program, the work reimagines performance for the living room as both stage and sanctuary.
