in lieu of flwrz: a hip hop musical
San Diego Artist Incubator
in lieu of flwrz: a hip hop musical is a sonic journey through the rise and collapse of a love story between two Black women, Grace and Shay. After betrayal fractures their relationship, both are forced to confront accountability, agency, and the generational cycles shaping how they love.
Driven by an original score written and performed by Miki Vale, the piece blends movement, dance, and Hip Hop to explore intimacy, heartbreak, and what it takes to break learned patterns.
This fall, in lieu of flwrz returns for a series of free public presentations as part of the City of San Diego’s San Diego Artist Incubator.
